President Barack Obama said on Monday the government would develop expanded screening of airline passengers for Ebola, both in the West African countries hit by the disease and the United States.
They really need to shut down all travel out of the country's that are high risk..
This could wipe out the whole world if not stopped from spreading.
Political Correctness may literally kill Americans. :(

seems to me that would just cause an influx of people escaping those countries.

As a business, shouldn't the airlines make a move to address this situation other than my tax dollars?
If I step into a toxic mess through my course of business, it's my duty to correct it, not my country's.
Holy shit, I'm turning into MRVETTE.

Stopping flights won't work due to our open boarders. Another reason to build a wall.

How do you build a wall that an airplane can't get over..?

Ever heard of Berlin and China ? They tried that there too. Walls won't work.

We could only hope. Maybe Al Sharpton will be with him. The world will be a better place when neither of them are on it.

Jesse Jackson, the worst friend black people ever had.
I don't wish anyone get Ebola. Not even those I disagree with politically or otherwise.

You could be right.... It sounds like he is starting a beef already
Speaking to MailOnline on Wednesday, Rev Jackson claimed that the treatment Duncan received contributed to his sad end.
He questioned whether there was really no more ZMapp left and why Duncan has received a drug that had never been tested on Ebola patients before, instead.
'All I do know is that Mr Duncan received late treatment and not the best drug. They say that there is no more ZMapp. It’s hard for me to believe that there’s only enough ZMapp to treat two people in all of America.

I got to thinking about this some more...
One thought is it would not surprise me at all if some doctors, and other people with connections have saved a little stash of this for their own, in case needed... knowing how hard it will be to get. :yesnod:
So what happens when the next guy needs it, and maybe he is white.
Possibly they would not get the treatment either... just because they are thinking it would look bad, and the Jessie clan would throw a fit?
And the other thought is.. wait a minute! there's no supply's of this stuff at all? :island14:
You got to be shittin me!
They better get busy making some, and FAST! as this problem is not going to go away anytime soon, and especially without it!
This is one scary assed plague that is getting larger by the day. :(
If they don't stop this by quarantining countries and areas now, it's gonna be too late to stop it.
The .gov is gonna have to make amends with the tobacco companies. :willy:

Was he even a US citizen? not that it should really matter..
I think everyone deserves medical treatment to save their life just as a humanitarian issue.
And before anyone starts in on, "they should pay like the rest of us"
Heck... even if a dog gets hit by a car and needs a vet, it just seems like the right thing to do.
In this case from what I have read I think not only did he endanger many others lives, he might have even been able to save his own life if he had been honest his first trip to the hospital, while maybe they still had time to treat him.

You lived in DC once. So how much Cipro do you think was available when the Anthrax scare was here a few years ago?
Thankfully, Ebola currently is only passed with very close contact. If it ever becomes an airborne pathogen, well, go review the movie Andromeda Strain.

I agree with you in general, but if he knowingly brought the disease here my altruistic volume goes to zero.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need (French: De chacun selon ses facultés, à chacun selon ses besoins; German: Jeder nach seinen Fähigkeiten, jedem nach seinen Bedürfnissen) is a slogan first used by Louis Blanc in 1851[1] (although an earlier version of the saying appeared in Étienne-Gabriel Morelly's The Code of Nature[2]) and popularised by Karl Marx in his 1875 Critique of the Gotha Program.[3] In the Marxist view, such an arrangement will be made possible by the abundance of goods and services that a developed communist society will produce; the idea is that, with the full development of socialism and unfettered productive forces, there will be enough to satisfy everyone's needs.[4][5]
You've just made me breathe into a paper bag and go back to my happy place. Ya tryin' to give me a heart attack?
:D
Edit:
Full disclosure: I just dropped $ 130 at the vet today for a stray kitten I don't even want. Charity yes, redistribution of wealth, especially to foreigners who bring their problems to the US, not so much. What if every sick, broke 3rd worlder came here for their "free" medical treatment?

Like I said, I think everyone should get treatment, and I don't blame him for wanting to get treatment... heck everyone wants to live.
But I think the guy is a piece of shit for knowingly endangering others lives when he could have tried to get help in a better ways.
It is too early to tell yet, but before it is over, this could be passed on to many from the people he might have gave it to, and cost thousands of lives. :(

Heck.. as a third worlder... I can honestly say, that's where I'm going if I have time to get there, and need heart surgery or something..
I wasn't trying to go all commy on this, and say free medical for the planet...
But if someone is bleeding to death, the least a person can do is give em a few band aids..
Dang! $130 for a kitten? how much per kilo is that?

The kitten weighed a little over 2 pounds, so, that's about $ 130/kilo.....and I have no plans to cook and eat the kitten.
