No Stingray Z51?? I get the "Z06 wasn't ready", but the Stingray is eligible this year.

Good god... they get to the track and they've got 10 f*ckin' Go-Pros on everything... two physically on the driver!

My take here is these are only "driver's cars" if light weight or superior balance are not priorities in your life. No mention of nimble things like the Cayman, the new Miata, a 3 series BMW or a midrange Audi??? I admit I did not watch the entire clip, but I can think of many more engaging cars (several of which would need to be purchased in the used market) which are better "driver's cars".

They have to be "new this year"... and the M4 is the M3.
I still like the GTI even though it got last place. Comparing any of them to a 918 is a little ridiculous

I'm sure we'll see it for the 2015 test. That and one of the Hellcat MOPAR's.

The test is of new cars that have been launched or have had a significant remodel in the 12 months prior to the test. They have been doing this for a few years now. The Cayman was tested last year and with a new miata coming i'm sure it will be tested for 2015. Two years back they had the FRS.
It's not the end all be all, it's just a solid piece of automotive journalism with a solid group of performance cars. Don't be so critical. Enjoy it for what it is.

While I usually find opinions of others interesting, I seldom find myself in agreement of their findings. This edition is no exception.
My choice of the group would be the "9th place" Jaguar, for reasons that seem good to me.
Demonstrated abilities or lack thereof, in a track environment means little to me as, in the real world, the car would spend most of it's life in far less demanding service.
I must admit, the "2nd place" Alfa is also worth a look, though I was unaware it even existed until recently...

Alpha reminds me of the Lotus way to do cars....very light, sexy as hell, and with a four banger screaming.
