Thursday, September 18, 2014
SWEETWATER, TN --
Police say an east Tennessee father forced his son to drink alcohol until he passed out as a punishment after he caught the 15-year-old drinking.
WBIR-TV reports Sweetwater police have charged 35-year-old Mark Allen Hughes with aggravated child abuse and neglect and with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The station reports police were called to the teen's home Saturday night by witnesses who said Hughes forced his son to play a drinking game. Officers said when they arrived, the boy had no pulse and they performed CPR until an ambulance arrived.
The teen's grandmother told the station he has been released from the hospital and is doing well.
Sweetwater Police Chief Eddie Byrum says the case will be prosecuted to the fullest.

Dang, that kid had quite a resistance built up.
When I was about 8 or so, my dad saw me sitting on my neighbor's porch, asking my neighbor what it's like to smoke cigarettes (neighbor would sit there and smoke.)
Dad came over and said "Heck, I'll show you!" He grabbed one of my neighbor's cigarettes, lit it, handed it to me, and told me to have at it. Breathe it down deep!
Of course after about two drags I was gagging and much hilarity ensued. He was satisfied that I was now a life-long non-smoker. Mission. Accomplished.
But about five years later I started smoking. That little tactic meant nothing compared to peer pressure and whatnot. Fortunately I stopped smoking in my late 20's before I did too much damage.

We've done similar in my family, but it was just enough to get you sick :leaving:

I'm assuming no one in your family got arrested as a result? That's the difference between when we grew up and today's PC America. I doubt Adrian Peterson would be charged with a crime in Texas if he had been raising his child 40 years ago....or 30 years ago.

How convenient he magically stopped having a pulse...just as police arrived....yet magically, no ill effects.
Do not rely on cops to check your pulse...
Im guessing, kid was totally blitzed off his ass....

You know which kids didn't get hit? The ones that listened to their parents !
I got beat when I deserved it. I even thanked my Mom somewhere in my mid twenties, for not letting me get away with being a bratty douche. Here I am 15 years later, in complete disbelief in the lack of ability for a parent to rear their douche kids. Pretty soon kids will be able to sue their parents if they don't get an iPhone by the time they turn 7.
