$7500 will drive it home.

I know the seller, in a way. He's been working at the same tire store for about 20 years and I've bought tires from there several times over the years.

I rode in it this afternoon. Seems to drive great. Plenty of power. Pretty much all new drivetrain, all the suspension is done, all new (non power) brakes (drums all around), paint is a good 15 footer, little rust on front quarter panel on driver's side, 350 built (little lopey... runs great), 350 turbo shifts well. Glass is all there and looks great. Window regulators operate as though they were new. New power steering gearbox.

No ac other than the compressor. Guy says vintage ac system is about 1100 including another compressor, not including installation. Bed is usable as is but boards need replacing eventually. Speedo doesn't work - he says the cable was very noisy and eventually ba-ROKE. Horn doesn't work.

Interior is ok. The cab wasn't painted under the seat but that's ok with me.

It's what I want... driver quality motor and suspension with plenty of power (4000 miles claimed since the rebuild), driver quality paint, fleetside, automatic transmission, right year.

Is $7500 in the ballpark?

^^ The hood is misaligned in this picture because some asshat slammed the hood shut from the passenger side vs the center of the hood. He pointed at the bent hood hinge mechanism, which was obviously bent.

You'll have to do better than that. I just called and offered him $8,000.

No heater and rotten bed. $7500 is probably in the ballpark, but I'd offer less.

I was actually wondering about the heater, because I hadn't asked him about it.

How can you tell there is no heater?

No heater hoses under the hood. I'll bet the ports in the engine are blocked off. A Vintage Air system will have a new heater box with the core, so if you're really going that route, it doesn't matter.

How much is a new bed?

I think it just needs the wood. I have no idea how much that would be.

Oak planking.....prolly a couple of hundred bucks, but it depends on the rust on the runners that hold the planks underneath. Nice truck, offer him 6K. :seasix:

No a/c is a dealbreaker for me, but then it's about 1,000 degrees Celsius here during the Summer. Retrofitting vintage air is going to be easier said than done......there's a reason the seller didn't do it. I'm assuming that GA gets pretty hot, too.

I agree 6 K is where I would start.

It wood luke mo' betta with the fac-tree chrome grille an-d bumpar. Sumbuddy dun painted all teh chrome bits.

If you know how to spot bondo, panel patches, etc...bodywork. Check the cab corners, hood lip, bottom of fenders, doors, and lift up the mat to check the floor pan. Also carefully check the A-pillar at the roof and roof lip. Shiny paint scares me. Check LMC for a wood bed kit. They offer various types and finishes. Also the metal bits.

Does it have the 5 lug conversion or still 6?

Not sure about the lugs. I totally agree with you about the chrome accents being missing. I've since looked at some trucks on eBay and at $7500 I think I might be better off just finding the truck that was built the way I want it. I've seen several trucks that are closer to what I want for around $7500.
