Here's my review of "No Good Deed." SPOILER ALERT!

"No Good Deed" is decidedly DOPE, not DOODY! A wickedly intense thriller with a distinct Afro-centric flavor. If BET and Lifetime had a one-night hookup and got pregnant, this movie would be their love-child.

Idris Elba is pitch-perfect as the heavy Collin Evans. He's cold, seductive and mercilessly, brutally menacing as a psychotic escaped convict. Many fans will be surprised to see him play a sadistic narcissist to the hilt like he does.

And your girl Taraji P. Henson (Terri) goes from sweet, charming, girl-next door to full-blown, mama bear, flip-mode in a crescendo of survival instincts dumped into overload as she battles the man terrorizing her and her two children.

Big props also to supporting cast Leslie Bibb (Terri's nosey, chatty, realtor besty Meg) and Terri's conniving, cheating husband, actor Henry Simmons.

Of course, there are the inevitable continuity flaws. When Alexis (Collin's girlfriend) grabs her phone and runs away from him, she has a blackberry phone with a built in keyboard. When Terri finds Alexis's cell phone next to her dead body under the bed, it's an Android phone.

Also, when Collin cut the extension to Terri's landline phone, the integrity of the alarm unit remained intact. All she had to do was hit the PANIC button on the console and the police would have been immediately summoned. Stupid stuff like that which degrades the storyline's believability and credibility.

All in all, though, I found "No Good Deed" a tightly-wound, well-executed, well-produced thrill ride. Definitely another milestone in Elba's considerable repertoire of acting versatility. If you're in a secure relationship, this movie will make you thank God for your spouse, GF, BF or significant other. If not, It'll keep you looking over your shoulder!
