Our motto is "Carpe Manana". We put out a monthly newsletter called, "Last Month's Newsletter", which announces upcoming events that have already passed...although I don't recall getting one this year.

Dues are $20 a year, and you application takes over four months to review your application. Don't send you application by air mail! They may disqualify you.

The Club was founded in 1956 and has 6,000 members internationally. Some of the group's activities include celebrating Christmas in June, Fourth of July in January and National Procrastination Week (the first week in March) late.

To request information on the club and a membership form, write to: Procrastinators' Club of America, Box 712, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009. Don't put it off!

Our creed:

1.I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2.I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3.I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4.I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.

5.I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.

6.I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.

7.I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.

8.If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.

9.I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.

10.I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.

11.I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.

12.I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.

13.I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.

I have to fill out an application???

This is sounding like work, and a bigger commitment than I'm comfy with.

All it asks is your name. Do you think we like spending time creating applications?

Can I just mark an X on an index card?

I could do that.

I'll leave it on the front porch.

The wind might blow it in the right direction.

I guess that's where we're different. I love hard work. I could spend hours watching it. Sirus. It's exhausting, though.

My long time mantra is sort of like that. I use “Do not put off till tomorrow what you can put off till next month”!:D

When she wants me to get something done, I tell her "I'll get it done, you don't have to remind me every 6 months about it!!"

I don't understand the OP's big rush to start this thread. It could have waited. I am sure the same question could have been asked in a month or two or even next year.

Like I tell my wife.. "I'll DO IT, you don't have to keep asking me every 6 months"

So I started reading about the Club sooner than I expected, since I was trying to put off the task I should have finished last week. Then I realized by doing so, I may have canceled out the one procrastination by no longer procrastinating reading about the club! Then I realized the procrastination had already started earlier, so it was too late . . . or is it not too late?

. . . Only time will tell.

Gee...I don't know. Sarcastic people usually need immediate feedback...so unless you're prepared to wait seconds...or even minutes or days ...for a reply, I'd consider the Procrastinators Club.
