In ten episodes we've seen...

Ponch and Jon pull over H.R. PufNStuf, and I mean the character, driving a Chevy Citation, I believe...

We've seen Ponch, wasted on nitrous oxide, do a five minute bit on drunk driver/drunk cop with Jim Backus, AKA Thurston Howell of Gilligan's Island. Definitely the best five minutes of TV I've seen in a dog's age...

We've seen Jon get bit by a Cobra, but it got his boot and didn't get through. They used fire extinguisher to chill the van full of snakes so they could pull the driver out.

We've seen a large black man tear a tiny Honda Civic to bits with his bare hands, seven years before Bubba Smith did it as Hightower in Police Academy.

We've seen Ponch get hit by beer cans, beer, cigars, a cigarette that burned an 8" round hole in his uniform, mud, baby food, firefoam, liquid glue and the pavement... twice. In ten episodes.

I love this show.

I'm still seeing the S1 episodes on my chan? Heck of a stunt team on the show. The episode 'One Too Many' was playing the other day. Dude wrecks one of the Cowasaki's on a regular public street. I didn't see any padding, etc...and took a hard hit to the pavement! Back when stuntmen were really stuntmen and took a hit. :seasix:

Oh man, wait until later in S1, when they start blowing more stuff up, and at the same time they start yanking the bikes out from under "Ponch" and "Jon", I can't believe they actually did stuff like that.

I have all 6 seasons in the digital fashion, which is how I can be ahead of MeTV.

Season 4 is bringing the hot pants and the crazy slo-mo rollover wrecks. It obvious the stunt crew is being asked to constantly escalate the amount of violence in the wrecks.


In this episode Central Division enjoys a weekend at the dragstrip, with Ponch driving their Pro Gas '56 Corvette, "The CHiP"... that is until the special dual-quad/tunnel ram set up they specially ordered gets stolen from the speedshop, leading them onto a gang of hot rod parts theives...

Ponch gets a win in the semis with a [email protected], right before he takes off in pursuit of the top Pro Gas driver, and leader of the speedshop thieves in their 9.36sec AMX, proving "The CHiP" to be the faster car... and winning himself a chewing out from Getraer... smiles, laughs, freeze-frame, credits.

... and I'm not kidding, the second half of season 3 and season 4 is a veritable forest of long legged slimmies in super short shorts... damn show has more mudflaps than an interstate truckstop..

Emergency! started today. Season 1, Episode 2. They had a thing going in this episode with the main Dr. at Rampart, dating the blonde nurse (Dixie). I'm glad they dropped in the next episodes. Almost like a mini soap opera thing in the show.
