who did NOT contribute "over there?" I'm talking about paying money to the forum, not contributing in the form of posting.

It seems to be a very common statement among new stall owners. Folks actually seem to be compelled to drop the comment that they didn't contribute anywhere else but have no problem with doing so here. So it begs the question.

I'll start: Me. I paid for Stall #16 within 1 minute of becoming aware that they were selling them... and never even considered one red cent over the six years I was elsewhere.

Actually i still read stuff over at cf. I just do not post anymore. Most of the people i enjoyed hanging with came over here. I was glad to contribute here. I am a lifetime member of z06vette.com, so i do post there once in a while.

I paid over here but never did there. They get enough from advertising.

Paid there and supported and encouraged a push to have people pay here. If I find a community like this, run by people who want us to have fun I have no problem helping.

Would I sign up now that a corporation has taken over. No.

Even before IB......And then the overzealous moderation I never felt it was worth paying for.I am comfortable here and don't mind coughing up a few bucks to insure this place stays around.........:)

Nope.
Did here a few days after it was offered. Why? I honestly don't know. I spent a lot of time on the other site, and still hang there some. Just never did it. I guess maybe I did it here to help keep things rolling. Always good to have alternative choices, you know.

I had some issues with overprotection of vendors over there -- I never contributed money to the forum.

I was the first Gold Lifetime member to sign up at CF.

CFOT was a great time waster when I was working for TWA & AA. After getting the initial network set up, ironed out some bugs. I was basically a fireman for the network. Occasional upgrades and maintenance but was mostly there in case there were fires that arose.

CFOT gave me hours and hours of enjoyment that broke up the boredom.
I gained tons of knowledge and help when needed on C5 mods and upkeep. Met many great people that have become my friends at CF.

At the time, we were having lots of issues with servers and space on them. Tony offered lots of on line storage, lots of room in PM, etc. I had zero issues with pitching in to something that had become a part of my life.

Had I known that Tony was about ready to make a shit load of $$$ off the site, I may have had different thoughts.

I felt a bit betrayed when I found out he made millions and we didn’t even get a “Thanks for making me a millionaire” from him.

The wife and I have contributed to St. Jude for many years. If CF got some the credit for this, it was fine with me so I pitched in some of the $$ to buy or donate via CF for St. Jude.

$25 a year was a no brainer and a smart move by the admin staff here. If by chance, 10 years down the road this place gets sold for millions, I hope at least we get a McDonalds gift certificate.

Never paid for the membership on that site. I felt it was well supported by ads and didn't feel the need to get the special animated avatar or have input on features.

I've paid fees on smaller parts like this one when I felt that my contribution could help with the performance and survival of the site.

Stall #6 here.

I was there and also pushed the powers that be here to promote a paid status. I'd do it again in a heartbeat here, but there, no way. That being said, as active as I was there with St. Jude and the t-shirts and badges, I really needed those 10,000 PM's. :yesnod:

That's something that I'd never be ashamed of , and is most commendable....Kudos to the Wiz !!!...

someone asked me if i was going to make something in my woodshop to donate to a St. Jude auction like i did last year. i replied not via CF. once i get my shop set up this spring (we moved late last year, shop is still packed up), i'll likely contact Iron Chef and see if there is any interest in having a similar fund raising auction, for the NCM. if so, i'll see what i can design and make, and it would be really cool if the timing was such that i could deliver it in person in May....stay tuned.

Thanks. The gracious mods here allowed me to have it! One reason I contributed here: The mods seem nice!:D
I saw the sticky a couple of days before, but didn't click on it to see what it was. After I did, I signed up. I like it here.

And I bet you didn't have to pay a dime over the $5 standard rate, either!

Not a paid member over there, but contributed items to auction for St. Jude and continue to do so. I honor the promises I have made. I still read the tech areas and a bit of OT, but don't post much. It's not much fun in that OT anymore and hasn't been for awhile.

I like it here and was happy to add a stall to my meager real estate holdings.:D

I need the laughter more than I need the tech info.

Yah, I paid over there, Lifetime Silver, pre-IB days. I still post over there though. Their parts sales and technical info is really great so I tend to stick with them for that. Until more comes over here that is!
And I still enjoy the interaction among the PR&C folks too.

I also paid for membership here within a minute of seeing that it was available, but didn't see it in time for a lower number :(
But, 33 seems to be just fine for now!

I wish though there was a way to prepay for several years at once, or even have a Lifetime membership here as well. Would go for that, rather than having to renew every year manually.

Other than that though, very happy to be on board!

I was close to becoming a supporter over there, then the Liz thing changed my mind. I've not posted there since, not that I will be particularly missed.
