Sometimes it just takes me awhile.
My dad passed away nearly 25 years ago. I have the last bottle of booze he ever bought, a 750 ml bottle of Southern Comfort. It isn't my favorite, nor was it his, he was a cheapskate like me and bought it because it was on sale.
It was unopened when I got it, And over the years I have consumed a shot of it now and then on special occasions when I want to remember him. At large family gatherings when we BBQ, I would add a dash of it to the BBQ sauce so dad would be participating in the gathering.
There is just a tiny amount left in the bottle, which was making me sad until I had a brilliant idea. I can just buy another bottle and add it to the little bit that is left. No matter how many times I do this, there will always be a tiny amount of the original stuff in the bottle. Properly cared for, it could last for generations. Here's to you, dad.:cert:
