I just ran across this on another forum and its a beautiful piece of free software..

SAVE YOUTUBE VIDEOS FREE and convert them for other formats if you want all free and easy.

Its firefox based but when you visit a page with a video there is a download button added to the toolbar next to the refresh/stop/home navigation and it lights up and all you do is click it and it downloads that video.

When you do that after you save a box shows up to either play or convert. It has 2 free downloads that come with it. 1 is a player and 1 is a converter. The converter works awesome!... it has several settings pre-set for Ipod, Ipad, HD, whatever you want and then if you want you can manually set it up too.

Pretty badass and very easy and the best part is that its free.

I know there's an add-in for FF that can do that. I don't know if this is the same one.

Yes it does but it keeps it in the .FLV format that you can get a free player for on that that is linked when you try and play it or you can convert it to any format you want like mp4, mpg, mpeg, avi and tons of others. All free and very easy

Don't know if its the same one you are thinking of but this is an add on for FF that pulls vids off of Youtube, Myspace, Google as well as flash video's. All sorts of stuff
