I just spent over an hour editing a video to upload for my daughter's car build, with the music playing over the radio as always, and those ****ers blocked the entire audio track. Really? Copyright infringement from having the radio playing in the background? Go **** yourselves you PC pieces of shit.

The law isn't fcuked. Only if you use music that is copyrighted to make a potential profit do you have to pay royalties. That's only fair. YouTube is merely being careful. If you show the video in a non-public forum, no problem.

I can see it for commercial enterprises, but for this??? .....that's not right. Mind you, I don't like music playing in car videos anyway. Motor noise is music! :D

In my restaurant they tried to make me pay for playing music while you eat or drink, saying that I was making $$$ from their music. BITE me, that's what I told them. You want to be part of the profit then you have be be part of the losses as well. Never heard from them again. :rofl:

I made a little video of one of my dogs and used a Beatles song (Lovely Rita) as background. I received no less than 3 emails informing me of my transgression.

The video DID post however.

I created a YouTube video last weekend of our local fireworks display. I used Don McLean's American Pie as a soundtrack. YouTube flagged my video as having copyrighted material and they gave me two choices... They would strip the audio track out of the video for me, or I could just acknowledge that the soundtrack had copyrighted material and the video may not be viewable in all countries. I acknowledged the content and the video remains on my page for all to see & hear.

Do you have "Monetization" enabled on your YouTube page by chance??

My step-daughter made an incredible video for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and it would not post because of a song track. It pissed me off as much as you. I understand the PURPOSE of the law, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

I would like to know how she might profit from the use of that song because I would like to know how I can get rich by posting a free video to youtube.
