I was headed to the bank with my two kids to make a cash deposit. For the first time, I was glad for my wife delaying me with a grocery list before I headed out. Makes me wonder why I don't use my concealed carry permit more. Although, I probably would have done nothing to further escalate the situation unless that gun was out and being pointed in my direction.

Damn lucky for you! :seasix:

I was in a mall once, heard a loud crash...a bank in the other end of the mall had been robbed and the crooks decided going through the glass rather than opening the door, was a good idea :funny:

Glad you and your kids are OK.
Are you aware of any newsfeeds that it might be on?

Treat the concealed carry firearm as you would a fire extinguisher.

It is there to clear a path to safety for yourself and your loved ones.

Glad you were ok.

More specifically your firearm is not there for you to start enforcing the law, which you are neither trained nor equipped to do.

That's a good way to think of it. Chances are the robber was just as scared as the victims and itchy trigger fingers are most dangerous. Best to duck and run. Save the gun fights for the police.

That is my thinking as well. I am glad I was not in there at the time with an envelope full of cash next to my two daughters approached by a drug addict with a handgun. I don't carry when i am with the family and just avoid unsafe places. It seems there aren't many of them left though.

I respect your wise advice on the proper times to use firearms. I guess I'll be a dissenter at least under this circumstance: If there's only one armed robber, and he wants the money I have on me, if I get a chance, he's dead.
