I'll die a happy man. Tonight I had tender pods of okra and green tomatoes from the garden. Sliced the okra into 3/4" coins, tomatoes into 1/4" slices, and yellow onion into cubes. Battered everything with an egg then into a sack with corn meal and fresh ground black pepper. Shook vigorously then fried in medium hot vegetable oil until golden brown. It all miracously gets done at the same time. A light sprinkle of Tobasco sauce before serving.

Served with a BBQ chicken leg and thigh with an extra dusting of cayenne pepper, plus Mexican corn bread with 2 thick pats of real butter inside. Iced tea, of course.

I think I'll skip dessert tonight.

That sounds good! I could eat like that every night. Feck the health experts who want us to eat broiled tofu and grapes with celery leaves. You, OP, are eating the way God and Nature inteneded: Off the land and natural. You, sir, are a role model! :hurray:

Sounds like a great meal.

It's bedtime now. Tell Annie to tuck you in.
Good night!

Yes..it is bedtime. Thank you for reminding me. I hope you sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs byte. I'll get Annie to do whatever it was you wanted. Good night, Annie. Sleep tight. As if that's a problem....

I eat like that a lot, and weigh at least 40 pounds too much, but my TCL is 135 and my Doc is a happy lady. Better living through chemistry in my case though.... statins rock!
