In the Southern traditon, of course. First, at 7:00 a.m. there was the very cold Coke for instant caffeine:

About an hour later there was the formal breakfast--cranberry juice and peanut butter nabs:

Please niote that the nabs ("crackers" for you non-Southerners) have "real" peanut butter in them...as opposed to...?

Fast forward until noon: A check of the frodge revealed that I was out of lunch meat (Called "sandwich meat" up Nawth). Didn't want any extra calories--don't laugh, please), so I fixed (cooked) an omelet: 2 eggs (didn't use 3 because the food experts can't decide if eggs kill you or are good for you), thin shavings of onion, chopped red bell peppers, bacon, sliced black olives, and sharp cheddar cheese. Two pieces of buttered toast with raspberry jam. Just water to drink.

About an hour later a cold Coke and Goji berries dipped in dark chocolate. I had about 10 Goji berries because they're good anti-oxidants.

About 5:00 p.m. I'm getting hungry, so I have a few gin and tonics (gins and tonic?) to quell (sp?) my hunger. I decide to eat light: A spinach salad with onions. tomatoes from the garden, black olives, celery leaves...and some other things with Comeback dressing on it. Mississippi Comeback dressing is an all purpose sauce that is a cross somewhere between a rémoulade sauce and Thousand Island salad dressing, great for a sandwich spread or dipping sauce. It's spicy, too. My salad was served with a large slice of home-made bread with butter on it.

I'm not going to drink another Coke--I'm not a glutton--but I may have a jar of Maraschino cherries later. Or Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

I think we call sandwich meat cold cuts. I'm not sure though.

I gave up Coke long ago due to kidney stones. Dr. said that if I HAVE to drink something like that to make it Sprite or one of the clear type drinks. I do have OTC caffeine pills. That or a couple of Goody Powders. I don't drink coffee, never have, probably never will. I will drink a Mexican Coke every once in awhile for a treat. So freakin' good in the bottle. They still aren't jazzed up like prior to the '85 formula change. Prior to that. A Coke would burn your nostrils and throat. I miss those.

My wife puts together chunky peanut butter on ritz crackers for me ( lunch snack ).

As far as lunch meat, we cook real meat and cut that instead of the over processed crap at the deli counter. Corned beef this week :hurray:

Where do you think illegal alien contractors and '86 Reagan legalized formerly illegal contractors get their supplies? They enjoy a taste of the old country. We enjoy those Cokes because we enjoy a taste of what the US USED to be like.

:sadangel:

I don't know why the soft drink companies do not just have a two tier pricing policy, one for sodas with real cane sugar and another, lower price for the crap they sell now, soda sweetened with corn syrup. I'd pay more for real sugar. You can sometimes get the real sugar versions, but they sell them as novelty items at exhorbitant (sp?) prices. Just sell me the damn stuff for cost plus the premium it takes to replace the corn syrup with cane sugar. TIA
