Was at the Sammy Hagar concert last night...

We had seats down front (sorta) but it was an outdoor concert and it had rained quite a bit just before so we brought a tarp and some blankets to sit on. Five of us there in our group, watching Sammy sing and shit. There was a couple about 25 feet away and they were smoking weed. Really really pungent stinky weed. For about an hour.

At one point two cops stand about 4 feet behind them and to their right, while they are sitting on the wet grass smoking yet another doobie. One of the cops gets about 2 feet from them, I guess making sure they are smoking weed. Then he sits down next to the couple. I mean right next to the dude, about two feet away. They STILL DO NOT NOTICE THE COPS and pass the joint back and forth happily.

So, guess what the cops do?

Were they actual cops (Police/Sheriff), or security guards for the event?

They were with the sheriff's department from what I could tell. Badges, guns, etc. The event security wore silly orange and white vests and generally looked like they could perhaps handle a six year old girl having a tantrum. Maybe.

Perzactly. I was mildly surprised. They watched them for about 10 minutes, then just wandered off somewhere. Perhaps the contact high was what they were going for? :dixie:

I'm pretty sure from 25 feet away I got a mild case of that myself. :island14:

However, it's possible that they kept an eye on them and watched them leave, then pulled them over. That would be rather easy for them to do.

Let's just say Sammy attracts a rather mature crowd and leave it at that. Hottie to Nottie ratio...not good.

About what you'd expect. His band is OK but not top notch like the times I've seen him before. His voice is good still, but I can tell he's kinda phoning it in now.

That said they did a great version of Rock Candy and Bad Motor Scooter (first song he wrote and in 1972!)

Ya, same as George Throrgood who I saw Friday night. He disappointed in that he left all but 3 of his solos to the other guitar player, but it was still a good time.
