I'm not very superstitious, but I'm sure there are a few among you all. Any good stories about the most unlucky day of the year?? :ohnoes:

My oldest son, Jason, was born on Friday the 13th, so it's good luck for him.

Just kidding, we didn't name him Jason.

Do they still omit the 13th floor from tall buildings?.....I haven't been in one for a while. :bigears:

Yes, they do. Other buildings will often use names for certain floors to avoid giving a floor on the building the number 13 designation.

One such example is the Radisson Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the 13th floor is called the Pool floor.

Another example is the Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where the 13th floor consists solely of a restaurant.

And a third example is the Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, where the 13th floor is the Mezzanine floor (and shet).

Is "Mezzanine" pompous ass for "13"?

I have a good'n for ya. I was in the desert when this happened. I launched the mishap aircraft and thankfully, recovered it too. We were very lucky to have this aircraft land safely. I am giving you a link to where someone posted the AIB findings with a lot of pics of damage. They put some comics on the thread for some reason, so just scroll through them until you get to the pictures. This is what happens when contractors don't have a decent tool control program in place. Also, I will give you the link to the dismantling of said aircraft. Goodbye A/C 0597:sadangel:

Friday the 13th, a full moon and a county full of rednecks. This could be a very interesting shift.

Woke up to go to work, roof of the C4 had a crack clear though it.

I worked on the movie Friday the 13th part 7 The New Blood.

The truck carrying the props caught on fire on it's way to Alabama from California because one of the special effects people had forgotten to turn off the valve on a self lighting propane torch. The Jason suit was a little damaged by the fire, but you really couldn't tell.

We worked nights for almost a month and a half straight.

The most disturbing scene to watch in person was the black kids head being crushed by Jason. They had built a fake head that looked amazingly real, and they pumped out fake blood, cottage cheese, and pig brains while the actor crushed it between his hands. Then we broke for lunch and had jambalaya.

The second most disturbing scene to watch was when Jason was swinging the girl in the sleeping bag against the tree. The actress was standing off camera doing the screaming and the sleeping bag just contained a fake body and bags of blood, but it was still very eerie to watch. :willy:

I got a horrible case of food poisoning one morning from the breakfast (actually, our dinner) at the hotel. :puke: :flush: :puke: :flush: :puke: :flush:

I forgot about the full moon.:ohnoes:....good night to stay home! :yesnod:

My Mom used to work at the mental hospital on reception and the stories she'd come home with after a full moon were pretty amusing/scary. :willy:

Even Ma Bell puts on extra operators on a full moon. I bet 911 calls are up too.

I was born on Friday the 13th. Another lucky day for me here today.

Most of the bosses were gone. It was carry-in Chinese day, from a good place no less. Pay day. No meetings. And most of all, no fires on the production floor to put out. I pretty much surfed the net and shot the shit with co-workers today.

Pffft! I was fishing on the bank of the Niagara River right where Lake Erie dumps into it. The weather sucked so I didn't even snap a pic for fear of getting my phone wet.
There were some big catfish being taken but I only got sheephead.
Not even worth taking pics of.

I went to the dentist on a Friday the 13th ( 20 years ago ) and when I went to leave, I couldn't unlock my car. :wtf:

I had the keys in my hand and for some odd reason they wouldn't open either door on my '72 Monte Carlo. I went back into the dentist office and got a coat hanger and grabbed the lock button after I bent the hanger into the proper shape. ( this was the first time I ever did it and it was way too easy to get in ).

Drove home and checked it there and both door locks worked with the key :confused5:
