McKinley (2 year old) sliced her foot open pretty good and we had to take her to the E.R. She's already scared of the doctor so the thought of stitches didn't bring great thoughts. She's a real trooper though and handled it better than mom and dad and ultimately due to where the cut was they couldn't stitch it. The cut is on the top of her foot at the pivot point of the ankle, and parallel with it. So they were worried it would just rip out. So they used the glue and steri-strips and she did great. Ultimately it ended up being way better than initially thought but was tough to see her scared and in pain. Interesting thing is she got to choose from Pink or Yellow gauze and she picked Yellow:) ha

Good to hear she did well getting "all fixed up".

I guess both parents need a drink about now from all the stress :D

Yowch :sadangel: little lady.

Glad she is patched up and healing. How did she do it?

Our little Natalie has a habit of banging her head hard when she falls. She gets up and has the cry face on but no sound. You know the earth shattering wails are just seconds away.

I have a niece, who does the same thing. Almost enough time to grab the ear plugs. But not quite.

Glad your little one is ok.

Glad she's okay. Getting banged up a little is just part of growing up, I guess.

It was a horrible feeling. Luckily it didn't bleed much at all. Was just the 'baby fat' thankfully. It it had bled a lot we'd have all been frantic!

When my shrimps were pocket size like that, I always asked them where their key was, they finally caught on that I was talking of the key you put in their back and wind them up, like an animated toy.....

but on a more serious note, in the kitchen there was a sharp corner to the formica counter top, stuck right out in the isle where it turned toward the range.....I took a belt sander to it, and rounded it off then Laura was tall enough to hit her head on it.....better a bruise than a sharp CUT......

you could maybe use white surgical tape and padding instead.....:seasix::shots:

Glad to hear she's on the mend. Always alarming to witness your kids in distress. I grow a new section of gray hair every time's there's an active shooter text alert my kid's school. So far, they've only been for drills and EQ tests, but we pray for them daily.

Amen Julian! I pray with/for her every day. She was definitely scared but she's a tough little nugget. And Kerrmudgeon, it was just a freak thing...she snagged/caught it on something while she was swinging. We were packing up our things and she was with the grandparents when it happened. We didn't actually see how, just the aftermath. Here's a better picture from the weekend, she's saying 'Cheese!'

Ha. Maybe I'll have one again in 15 years:) Sold my last Vette a while ago when preparing for family life. She'll definitely get the opportunity to drive whatever I have until she proves she cannot. :shots::shots:

I took my 5 year old and 2 year old daughters to their checkup last week. They both got shots and were crying :sadangel: It wasn't a fun day lol.

Been there! We get to unwrap the wound today to make sure it's not infected. It's not going to be fun.
