Later. I'm betting we don't see him until a genuine JLA movie.

In the comics, it was Supe who hipped Bruce out to MM, wasn't it?

To be honest the only origin I remember for MM is the animated JLA version, where Supes stands opposed to the rest of the team in his trust of MM, which is later vindicated, and MM becomes a full member.

Rumor is Jason Mamoa is being considered for the role of Martian Manhunter in the JLA movie. He's also rumored to be considered for Aquaman, so....take that for what it's worth.

I hear tell that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is at the top of the list for MM in the JLA movie. This stems from a couple meetings he had with WB execs, and a tweet he sent with the hashtag "#JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss"

Johnson is also rumored to be up for the role of Black Adam in the rumored Shazam movie.

John Stewart is the name of the black Green Lantern. J'onn J'onzz is the name of Martian Manhunter. So that Tweet is referring to Green Lantern, not MM.

I heard about The Rock being up for Green Lantern to reboot it from the dismal failure the movie was. Since they now want an "ethnic" Green Lantern, John Stewart is the obvious choice. Although, The Rock isn't black, he would be cool in the part non-the-less.

I rather liked the Green Lantern movie. Alot of it was unnecessary....but the film wasnt terrible.

I was looking forward to a sequel with Sinestro being the villain....

Yeah, I fuct that up. I got my Jones and Stewarts mixed up.

Still, it's much more likely Dwayne will be playing MM (or Lobo) than GL. Here is what Dwayne has to say on the subject of his possible DC comics role...

The first quality we were looking for was that he had to be extremely complex and have a lot going on, The other quality was that he had to – the character we were looking for had to be well-known but never brought to life. The third thing – and most important – is he had to be a badass motherf*cker, Ok, and on a Superman level of power, where [he] could throw down. In those three qualities, I’m happy we’ve found that character.

The only character that is on Superman's level is Shazam (Capt. Marvel). I guess I could see The Rock playing that part, although he is getting up there in age.

As for Lobo, I guess they could write him to be more on Superman's level but he isn't complex at all and an unknown character to boot. Not to mention he is a total douche kazoo and I don't think The Rock, with his star power would want to play that kind of role. I could be wrong though.

With The Rocks build and acting ability, I'm sure he could play many superhero characters.

Too old and too Polynesian, but he has the perfect build for it. Superman is supposed to tower over everyone else and The Rock is 6' 5".

Christopher Reeve was 6' 4".
Brandon Routh is 6' 3".
Tom Welling is 6' 3".

Henry Cavil is only 6' 1". By contrast Ben Afleck is 6' 4". I hope they use some camera tricks on ole' Henry.

J'onn J'onzz is one bad huckachucka. Love his character in the animated JL movies and TV series.

He could play a kickass Black Lightning (Jefferson Pierce). :yesnod:

Rock is pretty light skinned, and he could be a great clark kent, and superman. Current offering is a good kent, but..just doesnt sell the whole superman thing to me.

Cavill is muscular, but he lacks the bulk that historically Superman has, he's a big dude that makes for a very convincing superhero, and not a convincing newspaper reporter or whatever. Cavill fits better in the news room..than in the S suit.

Anything is better than the Lois and Clark abortion with Dean Cain..but still, i think ROCK would be better than Cavill.
