Talk about sticker shock. I walked into an auto zone today to buy windshield wipers for the truck. I'm thinking 10-15 dollars for the set yea right almost 40 Fu@king dollars for the pair. Talk about a rip off...

This is just like buying razor blades for shaving pisses me off every time I buy the Mach 3 blades another rip off...

Just use the old style straight edge single blades. They last longer, do a better job, and a years supply is less than one purchase of those Mach 3 blades. I used to use those until I got a new single blade setup.

I'm with the OP on Mach3 blades. The only razor I've ever used that didn't cut me up.

Bic disposable razors FTW

Every time I use the plastic disposable blades I'm bleeding all over the place. Plus the grip feel is not satisfactory to my tactile senses...:D

Last time I was at the Acura dealer getting my "free" oil change (which always seems to cost $200 or so by the time I leave) they asked if I wanted them to change my wiper blades. Actually yes, because they had just started to chatter a bit. As I was eating lunch waiting for my car to get done, it dawned on my that they probably charge $500 for new wiper blades or some such shit.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were *only* about $50 for the three blades. That's "Acura Cheap!" (tm)

I picked up a set of wipers for about 12$ for my truck at wally world a couple of months ago. Just normal blades, no trick ones, but they work great. :confused5:

I copped a BOGO free special at O'Reilly Auto Parts on some Bosch blade wipers for my wife's minivan. I think I paid $16.50 for the pair. Normally, they're more than $30.

I'm with the OP here.
Bought a set of Beam blades (Bosch) at AZ for the family truckster. $22.00/ea.
WTF?
But, they were 50% off, so $22.00/set.
Told the dude I wanted the back window shorty (13" I think), but I ain't paying $11.00 for that thing.
Dude gave me a deal on the AZ branded cheapo straight bladr priced at $7.99, and knocked of 50%.
So, $26.00 for 3.
3 years ago, Rain-X beams were close to half that price ($15/set).
Again, WTF?

Getting old sucks.

Rain X wipers suck and I will never put them on ANY of my vehicles even if they were given to me.

Their snap on design ( wiper to blade attachment ) fails at the most inopportune time :cuss:

I spent close to $50 for three new wipers before our trip to Ontario Canada one year. It started raining on the way home ( I was towing our 24' pontoon boat ) and the driver's side wiper blade came off the wiper attachment, in heavy traffic during a downpour in Syracuse NY. ( Rt 81S )

I had to drive for a couple miles until I had a relatively safe spot to pull over to swap wiper blades from the passenger side. I put a tie wrap around the defective wiper.

I emailed Rain X to tell them about what happened. Included date of purchase from two weeks earlier, where purchased plus name , address, email and phone number. NO reply at all.

I went back to where I purchased them and they replaced all three free of charge. They even installed them.

Next rain the back wiper blade fell off :kick:

I will NEVER put Rain X wipers on any vehicles or recommend them to anyone.

I use the disposable with C. O. Bigelow shaving cream. Never have an issue.

I did their best blade... I'm a big fan of Mach 3s as well. Took about a month for my skin to get used to the dollar shave razor but they are good now. $10 a month 5 blades ans a free solid feeling handle. I recommend people try their free offer...
