It is dedicated to anyone who served in the U.S. Army's 7th Signal Command. In 1982 the command's distinctive unit insignia was changed to reflect the motto of "DIFFICILE EST SUMMISSO ESSE" which translates to "It's Hard To Be Humble". The Commanding General at that time pressured the Army Institute of Heraldry to approve the motto as he was an avid country music fan. When he retired and the new Commanding General wanted to change it to something more in keeping the mission of the command he was told in no uncertain terms that what was there would be there until the unit was deactivated. It's still alive at Fort Gordon, GA. . .
