I am fascinated with Billy the Kid, I have been ever since I was a little boy. Possible 'new' photo shows Billy along with a fellow Regulator Dan Dedrick.

Forensic Detective confirms it's Billy.

This is sort of an old story, but I figured I would post it. I know Grey Ghost will get a kick out of it. :seasix:

I think one of the main reasons I am fascinated with him, is that he was kind of the underdog. He definitely got the short end of the stick, and wasn't as bad as he was made out to be by the law and press. Sure he wasn't an angel, but he wasn't a cold blooded murderer either. The people that he killed, kind of deserved it, or were in the wrong place at the wrong time. :yesnod:

Thanks. I do love old photography and images. They look strikingly similar. They can measure things like eye distance, nose, chin, etc...and see if they equal the same. People are usually amazed at the detail and clarity of glass plate images -dag, ambro. Tintypes lose that detail. It would be great to have concrete proof. But it is lost to time. One story seemed to say the owner would auction it and the other said he would just keep it?

Yeah, I'm not sure. Interestingly, the photo was in the possession of Pat Garret's estate. Kind of weird to keep a photo of somebody you shot in the back. Then again, I read that the Garrett estate was in possession of another supposed Billy photo that wasn't real. So who knows, I guess we will never know for sure...

I'm joking but the contrast is a lot different in the face.
He looks different in more recent pics...
