It's whisper quiet, I'll give it that. Jury's apparently still out on how well it performs on high, wet, grass, though. Anyone else have/peep one? Your thoughts?

For small yards I'm sure it would be fine. For mine? When I had a mower that size it took me at least 3.5 hours to mow. That thing? Bwahahahaha!

I picked up this corded model at Lowes for one of our rental units and I really like it.
It has plenty of power to get through that grass which is fairly thick.
Maybe battery tech has evolved enough to make a mower that would handle basic jobs?
No way in hell I'd use one for a larger lawn though.
Seems like they're still lacking power and service/charge endurance.

Yeah man :iagree: took me about 2.5 hrs until I snagged this pig. Really nice way to mow the yard and is very maneuverable.

It takes me zero hours, I have "people" for that job now. :dixie:
Gave my old mower away about 10 years ago, I hate mowing.

Did your neighbor mime filling it up with gas and pull starting it before he mowed with it the first time?

Takes me about 30 minutes now but I enjoy it. My lawn is my goofy little zen garden hobby.
I'm a fanatic about keeping out crab-grass and weeds. You'd be hard pressed to find a single weed in the entire lawn and it is a nice seed blend that yields soft yet thick growth.
Walking across it is like a high shag carpet.
Same gig each year with aeration every other year:
Crab grass and fertilizer earrrly Spring
Crab grass + broad leaf currently
Grub treatment every other year
A good 1" water per week at minimum
Mow (mulch) late afternoons to just over 3" long
Keep the blades sharp and take different routes each time

He let his slim mow the yard. He just assembled it from the box it came in from Home Depot (do the batteries come pre-charged?) and let her have at it. It sounds like a giant insect humming as it goes about its business.

Old Ernie, the guy at 420 across the street, gave me his mower when he got a lawn service....it was hard to start, I took off the recoil starter, drilled a hole in to top of the housing, and stick a 1/2" drill with a cut off 3/8 drive extension, with a socket welded on the end....this allows me to start the engine using ELECTRIC POWER......God, I"m lazy.....
I also sped up the operating speed on the air vane control, it's self propelled and now I have large diameter wheel barrow wheels in the rear.....for easy turning in this stupid FLORIDA SAND.....:issues:
front lawn in 20 minits, back in 30.......CASE CLOSED!!!!
BUT I walk fast behind it.....oh one more thing, I cut out the side of the mower for easy discharge of the clippings....screw all that crap with bagging it......

I usually have a dozen riders on hand to test out...I rarely break out mp personal traxtor anymore...
But...Battery mowers blow dicks, the batterys come with a charge but its not a full charge, and the charge life can vary depending on blade sharpness, speed of cutr, grass length, height of cut ,etc...
The problem with batteries, just like on a car....when it goes flat...you are done for a while.
I bought my wife one last week, same model from Amazon. This is her third battery operated lawn mower and she likes it the best so far.
Plenty of power in the wet grass, the batteries are very easy to swap out for her, we have two other batteries of the 4AH rating. She can mow for 2 hours before you need to take the batteries out and charge them. The mower works on one battery and then when it discharges it switches over to the other battery. With the batteries supplied it will last about 70 minutes of mowing. She will do the trim work and also mow around the ditch so I don't get the Zero Turn Ferris hung up.
This is our fourth Greenworks product and so far they have been good, Battery operated chain saw, Leaf Blower and Electric pressure washer.

Our lawn is 2 acres and my wife has mowed about 1 acre with the battery operated mower. She enjoys it not having the exhaust noise and smell from the gasoline engine. This mower is easy to push and very light weight.

I have a really nice mower that my grandpa left me, but I hate mowing, so I just pay someone to do it.

It will be great until the batteries age, overheat while charging and it catches fire; then burns the house down.

She mainly does the trimming along the fence and near the house. When the weather is nice and she wants to walk a bit is when she pushes the mower for a long while.
I've got a Ferris 52 inch zero turn that really makes short work of the yard. Mowing at about 8 MPH makes it quick when everything is trimmed.
For small yards I'm sure it would be fine. For mine? When I had a mower that size it took me at least 3.5 hours to mow. That thing? Bwahahahaha!
Previous owners told me it took them 3 hours to mow the yard with two push mowers going (6 man hours). Takes me about 1.5 hours total with my 52" deck and finishing up hard to reach areas with the push mower.
