Woman hospitalized after being attacked by 3 dogs in her yard
UPDATED 7:06 AM EDT Apr 29, 2014
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. - A central Kentucky woman remains hospitalized after being attacked by dogs in the front yard of her home.
It happened Saturday evening on Flat Creek Road in Franklin County.
Heather Moore, 39, was in her front yard when two pit bulls and a German shepherd attacked her.
She suffered a massive head wound and bites to her arms and legs.
Authorities say it could have been worse if two neighbors driving by didn't stop to help.
"There were three dogs dragging something that looked like a deer carcass across the road here in front of me and when I got closer I realized it was a person," said neighbor Riley Smith.
The dogs belong to a neighbor and are in quarantine at the humane society.
The neighbor who was caring for the animals now faces charges, including three counts of harboring a vicious animal.
