I think I have a new pet peeve, when bowling with my daughter tonite I noticed the other team pre celebrating before the ball hit the pins thinking they where getting a strike. Drove me up the wall all night and probaly why we won. Anyone else ever went through this? :cheers:

My biggest competition is always with myself.

If the other team is friendly and not obnoxious, i'll give them a high five if they pick up a strike/spare. :cheers:

I've found that 185 avg bowlers tend to be the worst. Just good enough to put together a decent string, with no real f'n clue of what they're doing. Miss the pocket completely, get nine to crumble down somehow and bitch about it...

Those 185 average bowlers get pretty pissy when we bowl them. They totally hate when someone that throws a straight ball knocks them down a peg.

I quit bowling about the time my wife rolled a 247 with an 11 pound ball and a dead straight ball at that. Best I ever managed was a 220. Oh, that and after I quit smoking I couldn't take the nasty-ass smoke-filled alley full of chain smokers. My average was around 160 at my best, I sucked. :rofl:

Our team won the championship consistently though. Won it three years in a row.

I had a 197 and then a 57 the very next game.

I used to bowl a lot. I had a partial scholarship in bowling when I was an undergrad.

A lot of what you see is just someone trying to get under your skin a little bit. There will be people that run shots out, turn around after they threw the ball knowing was going to strike, all sorts of antics. I have been known to do a few things like that myself. :yesnod:

If you have a showboat on the lanes, I would tell myself to just smile, and throw my next shot better, and not get excited. I'd strike, then turn around, walk back to the sitting area, and not say a word. "I don't need to get excited, I've thrown a strike before."

I have enough trouble hitting my target when there's only one target and it doesn't move. If there were two or three targets moving all over the place, who knows?
