I just got mine all prepped...All receipts, taxes, water, etc added up and spread sheeted and ready for my accountant. Income properties, and the wife's business....That's the hardest part, and it's done....:above::above: I should be getting some coin back, after the horrible losses we took on the rentals and the business....:bigwink:

I've looked at it I have an idea of what my deductions will be but I'm waiting on my W2 so I can sit down and get it all together at once.

Unfortunately it looks like i won't be able to deduct any of the loss on the sale of my FL house. OUCH.

Won't get our tax info for another month. Plus you should wait until the IRS updates their software before filing.

I haven't seen the vast majority of my 1099s yet. It'll be a while. I never get any back, so I tend to file on April 14th.

Yeah amazing - some mom and pop shops who do their own accounting don't follow the letter of the law. I know - I was shocked.

If previous years are any indication I'll be getting 1099s in March. I'll wait rather than have to file an amended return.

As I somehow had zero tax liability for Federal taxes last year, I suffer no penalty for not filing estimated taxes. I have to wait calmly for all the stuff to arrive.

Remember, REPORT ALL INCOME! Expenses of the deductible kind are subject to interpretation but income is not. Never forget that there are far more important things to lose sleep over than because you fudged your taxes.

Filed Jan 17th, but won't get our refund until march probably because of the stupid tax law they passed Dec '10. Now, returns with itemized deductions won't even start to be processed until the end of February. I'm a little upset about that because we usually have our refund by the end of January.

We will be filling out W4s so that out withholdings will change. I'm getting sick of waiting for my own money every year, and plus it's about time I learned to be more responsible with my money instead of loaning it to the .GOV every year and being upset about them passing laws to keep me from getting my money when I should.

Some of the paper I need takes a long time to arrive. REIT stuff is always late! I normally own a bit even after paying quarterly estimate taxes. So for those reasons I normally see my preparer about the third week in March. Get my completed returns a couple weeks later and send the legal stuff and blood to the IRS.

H&R Block is close to the worst place you could ever go. Their fees are very high and their staff has no business preparing tax returns (most of them anyway). I'm willing to bet you would pay the same or less at a CPA firm. Plus, you'd get a better and more accurate prepared return.

As far as my taxes....not even close. My clients are already starting to call to schedule their appointments for taxes and to preapre their 1099's to send to their subs. Let the fun begin!
