Amazing little piece of gear.
That's a modular stereo mic. It snaps off and you can put an assortment of mics and even two more xlr plugs for a total of six audio sources. All to up to 99 independent tracks.

Records to SDHC card. Very high resolution and very low noise. What is frickin awesome is it replaces a deck and a $8k field mixer - for $399.

Looks like something Dr McCoy would use.
Shouldn't you be saving for retaining wall materials?

This thing will make me money. I have video gigs lined up. Mostly interviews. But this thing is good enough that it's been used in movies. Actual, gawd dang movies.
Technology marches on.

Technology is crazy. If actors didn't get paid such crazy money, you could make yourself blockbuster-level movies in your home office if you had the time to do all the pre/post-production stuff by yourself

I thought it was a multi user vibe for a Mormon family.

I've seen those in the Musicians Friends catalog. Kinda wondered how they worked.

It's designed mostly for pro video but it has overdubbing capability, accepts line level instruments, metronome, tuner, etc. it also can serve as an audio interface to a computer.
But video peeps like it because of the quality of sound plus portability and built in mixer.
