Pregnant Mother Of 3 Tries To Kill Kids By Driving Minivan Into Ocean

Wed, March 5, 2014 3:34 p.m. EST

A pregnant woman had a ‘blank’ look on her face after driving her 3 children into the ocean in an attempt to kill them and herself.

This mom of three took extreme measures to try and take the lives of herself and her children by driving directly into an ocean in Daytona, Florida.

One witness stated that when he tried to help the mother out of the front seat of the van, she wouldn’t move.

She just sat there and stared blankly ahead without any concern. When two of the small children were pulled from the car they told the rescuers that there was also a baby in the car, which sent them back into the ocean to find the third child.

“She (the mother) wouldn’t say a word. She didn’t tell us nothing about a baby,” one witness told a local news reporter.

After the incident, emergency responders brought the pregnant woman to the nearby hospital for a mental evaluation.

Despite being safe and sound after being pulled out of the vehicle, her three children — aged 3, 9, and 10 — were also brought to the hospital to be examined.

Local news reports that the children will be put into foster care once they are released from the hospital

Give a mother a fish, and she can feed her family for a day. Teach a mother to fish...

The minivan, like salmon, was heading home to spawn little minivans.

And I believe the minivan is in fact a Honda Odyssey. Hence the headline. Couldn't resist (since no one died).

I am glad the kids are safe. Unfortunately they are going to have to live the rest of their lives wondering why mommy wanted to kill them. :sadangel:

Lucky for them their mother was inept and there were other people around to help them, otherwise this could have been another story like Susan Smith, or Darlie Routier.

I hope that mother loses all parental rights to all her children (including the unbourn one), and they place those kids in much better homes. :sadangel::sadangel:

I think a root canal on her babymaker is in order too.

Not one thought of "I hope the mother gets help" for what might be something she has no control of.

The human brain is a wonderous bit of kit. It is one of the reasons I believe there to be a higher power at work in the universe. But when every single one of the billions and billions of connections and pathways isn't working, it can be terrifying.

None of you know this woman's life or health and yet the first and only response you have is "f*ck her, damn her to hell."

Nice.

Fixed for you. Never presume to know what another person is thinking. Ironic, isn't it?

I didn't say "**** her", or "damn her to hell". I said that with her actions (trying to murder her three children) that she has forfeited her right to raise those kids, and that she should be rendered incapable of ever having children again.
After her children are removed to a safe location and her baby box is no longer functional I do hope she gets some help for her mental issues and is able to function in society. :yesnod:

If she stops wasting oxygen we won't need to worry about her being a threat to herself or her children.

If she has no control then she is beyond help.

Mental illness is no joke. One of my close friends from college has been afflicted in the worst way imaginable. For three of my four years at school i spent pretty much every friday at happy hour with him and a group of about 10 guys or so including him that i to this day consider family. Him, I, and about another half dozen guys went to Cancun for spring break senior year together as a big farewell... That should give you an idea as to how close we were.

This is him today.. Noone has heard from him in some time. He's gone into seclusion. He is literally a different person. I don't know him anymore.. We don't know him anymore..

I used to be just as critical as you guys are being now... When it hits close to home with people you know and love your viewpoint changes a bit.

Saw it on the news. She also endangered the lives of all the rescuers for her stunt. Put the kids up for adoption, if you want to rid yourself of your responsibility. I have no sympathy for her. She should have practiced birth control or kept her legs closed if she didn't want to risk it. She is irresponsible and a safety threat to anyone near her.

An Uncle and his son (my cousin) were/are both full blown schizo. Someone else close is bi-polar. Coming from that viewpoint, I still think people like this mom should have their license to breathe rescinded.

You're not trying assume to know how close mental issues/illness has hit to my home are you?

Not at all...

Judging by how a personal you took this though my guess is this topic hits close to home for you as well which is unfortunate.

Bail set at $1.2 million for mom charged with driving kids into the ocean

Ebony Wilkerson appeared Saturday before Florida judge on three charges of attempted murder. The pregnant mother intended to kill her children and herself, authorities say, when she drove her minivan into the Atlantic Ocean.

Saturday, March 8, 2014, 11:27 AM.

Ebony Wilkerson appeared in Volusia County court in Florida on Saturday, charged with trying to kill her kids.

At her first court appearance after barreling the family minivan into the Florida surf with her three terrified children inside, Ebony Wilkerson's bail was set at $1.2 million on Saturday.

The pregnant mother had told her screaming kids to close their eyes and go to sleep right before driving straight into the roaring ocean waves of Daytona Beach earlier this week, authorities said.

On Friday, she was charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder and child abuse with great harm.

Her relatives have said she has no prior history of mental illness. And since she's currently pregnant, can the diagnosis truly be postpartum psychosis? :confused5:
