I gave Comcast the boot 2 weeks ago for outright calling me a liar.
A day after I cancelled the service, I get a rather nasty phone call from a collection agency telling me that I need to turn in my comcast modem or esle they will charge me $90 for it.
So I said fine, I'll turn it in.
I was told, "no, we have to come get it. we will be out on Jan 28th to get it"
if it's such a huge deal, why not sooner? but fine.
today I have a bill from Comcast for the $90 modem. wtf.
I called Comcast, and the dumbass on the other end jsut keeps telling me that my account is in default, it's going to show up on my credit rating, and I have to pay the $90 or I could face a lawsuit.
I remain calm, ask for a supervisor.
Supervisor says "we still show a $30 credit on you account for the prorated service as well as a note saying that we are picking up the modem from you. but If you want, you can drop off the modem at any of the service centers."
He then sent me an email stating that, as well as scan of our credited "bill"

WTF comcast?

wonder how many people they get to fall for that?

I dropped the sorry azzes two years ago and went with knology,never had a problem after that.

This is bullshit and they know it. Did you write down the name of the person you first spoke with that said they would come get the modem? Did you get confirmation that the account was cancelled and can you show what date you asked for the cancellation?

I've had a problem similar to this before and asking to speak to a supervisor doesn't help. Keep asking to speak to the next supervisor until somebody gets tired of dealing with you and takes that $90.00 charge away.

I also had to do this with XBOX live last week since I sent in my cancellation notice but they still renewed. Funny thing is they said they could cancel the account but couldn't refund the money. Yeah, it took about 45 minutes but I got my damn $$$ back and a confirmation that there were no recurring charges along with the representative's info.
