.....drink this coffee.

GF says, "oh yeah, I cleaned the coffee machine with vinegar yesterday, so the coffee might taste a little "vinegary" this morning." Uhh, yes. Yes it does. I thought I could choke it down, but I guess not. I made it through about a half a travel mug full. I'm pouring the rest out.

Yeah, I know I am a :fruit:

 Been there done that..after Karen used vinegar to clean my coffee maker I poured out 2 or 3 batches of water and 1 batch of coffee before I even thought about drinking it.

Funny you mention this... Over the years I've devolved into an instant coffee drinker. I'm only in it for the caffeine these days and as long as it’s hot & black and doesn't give me heartburn I'm good to go.

I have a Japanese hot water pot. Keeps about 1.3L of water at 208 degrees. I just throw a spoonful of Taster’s Choice in the cup and then push a button on my hot water pot and voilà! Hot back coffee in seconds.

So every now and then the wife will throw a half cup of vinegar in the hot water pot and set it to re-boil. Once it’s done she empties it out and puts fresh water in. Well the other day she forgot to empty & replace the water after cleaning & re-boiling. I drank 3 20oz cups of coffee with just a hint of vinegar… I noticed the first cup tasted kind of funny… but kept right on drinking! My taste buds are gone apparently…

My wife cleans our coffee maker out with vinegar a few times a year and runs several loads of plain water through it and I've never noticed any off flavor at all.

I just run whiskey through ours.

Yup, whiskey ruined and calcium carbonate deposits still firmly in place.

That's exactly what I do. I actually like the flavor of the Taster's Choice better than anything I've tried.

I've got a bean grinder, a 32oz French Press and have tried pretty much all of the exotic beans from an expensive coffee shop in town.

I like the instant better than any of them. :dunno:

Don't ask where she got the vinegar.

The last time I had instant coffee was when staying at a cheap hotel so we could catch a 5:30 AM flight in Kansas City. Drove up that evening, woke up around 3:30 AM and needed caffeine badly. They didn't have a real coffee machine, just an electric kettle and a few packs of instant coffee. I made two cups for the wife and me.

Oh shit.

One sip, dump. The hot chocolate packs made a decent hot chocolate though.
