Jail Break Advice Needed - I-Phone

Has anyone unlocked their I- Phone.
What is the best method to use to do it?
Ya, there are a lot of U-tube vids out there but I'd rather hear it from someone who's had success in doing it already.

I have done it on old iOS versions. I have not jailbroken iOS 7. I'm not sure if there is an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 yet.

You definitely don't want a tethered jailbreak.

I remember something called "yellowsn0w", but I don't remember which version that worked on.

Same here. I always used Dev-Team Blog (http://blog.iphone-dev.org) when I jailbroke my iPhones.

A freidn tried it on his Iphone a couple years ago and something went wrong, phone shut off, wouldnt come back on...apple wouldnt warranty it, he basically had to eat it...
