After allegedly smoking pot all day, drinking beer and popping anti-depressants, bad-boy pop star Justin Bieber went on a wild pre-dawn drag race in Miami Beach that landed him in jail Thursday morning, police said.

When stopped by police in his Lamborghini, Bieber barraged officers with a string of F-bombs, babbled incoherently, refused to get out of his car and, when he finally stepped out, declined to take his hands out of his pockets, police sources told The Miami Herald.

He was booked at Miami Beach police headquarters on DUI, resisting arrest and drag-racing, a police spokesman said. The musician’s entourage had apparently used their cars to block traffic on Pine Tree Drive at 26th Street, a residential area, at 4:30 a.m., creating a drag strip for the young star, who had been on a party spree in South Florida.

Tests showed that Bieber was under the influence of drugs, Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez told the Miami Herald.

We have a troubling DWI policy of ****ing over social drinkers hard, when the problem is people who are really wasted. The woman who had 3 drinks at dinner isn't the one going the wrong way down the freeway who kills a family of 6.

And even the old limit, .1, wasn't really drunk for people who drink regularly. The folks truly impaired at .1 are those who rarely drink and aren't used to the effects of booze.

[end soapbox rant]

The problem is... back when we were kids we learned how to drive drunk so never had any problems with it.. these days it's illegal and they never get the chance to learn properly.

They really should make drunk driving a mandatory class in high school. :seasix:

Could Justin Bieber Get Deported?

Jan. 23, 2014

As Justin Bieber's legal troubles grow, so does the possibility that immigration officials could send the pop star back to Canada, where he was born.

Bieber's arrest early Thursday morning in Miami Beach for allegedly drag racing and driving under the influence -- first-degree misdemeanors -- are not necessarily crimes that would lead to deportation, New York City immigration attorney Michael Wildes, whose firm's clients have included John Lennon, told ABC News.

"But if ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) wanted to go after him, they could make a case," Wildes said. "That and the eggs is opening files in multiple government agencies and states, and could make it more likely."

The "eggs" Wildes referred to is the ongoing Los Angeles police investigation into a neighbor's accusation that Bieber threw eggs at his house and caused $20,000 worth of damage. Police searched the 19-year-old singer's home Jan. 14 for any connection between him and the egg-tossing incident and arrested a member of Bieber's entourage, Lil Za, for alleged drug possession during the search. Bieber has not been charged in the egg-throwing incident, but he could face a felony charge of vandalism if evidence indicates he was the culprit.

Problems could arise if Bieber is convicted of an aggravated felony. Foreigners, such as Bieber, who are legal permanent residents can be deported if they are convicted of a serious crime, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Bieber currently resides in the United States on an O-1 visa, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The government issues this type of visa to people with "extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics," according to the State Department's website.

If a crime is not a felony but involves "moral turpitude," that is, it shocks the conscience of a state, local or federal prosecutor, there is the possibility ICE could review a person's legal status, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Wildes, a former federal prosecutor, said, "DUI and drag racing are not crimes involving moral turpitude," but "if every week something else happens, the government will look at it.

"The young man is an extraordinary talent, and he's a teenager," Wildes said. "The government may be waiting for his conduct and maturity to catch up with his talent."

Meanwhile, a petition is already circulating on Whitehouse.gov by folks who would like to see Bieber sent back to Canada.

"He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society," the petition reads.

I think they all use the justice system for media exposure. The judges should throw the maximum at celebs. It started with Paris Hilton and others have followed her routine. If your name isn't getting enough media play. Do something minor and get tossed in jail. The media will lick it up like sawmill gravy and biscuits.

If the TMZ article is correct, then the cops lied, and could not have observed him speeding. 27 in a 30 is NOT probable cause to stop and detain here in America.

The prosecutor should toss out any and all charges ASAP. Whatever he admitted to resulted from a bad stop....unless we are saying that the car's GPS was wrong.

That also brings up the question. Did the cop just honestly fail to gauge the speed of the car? If so, he needs some remedial training. Did the cop lie, and create "probable cause" to stop the car? If so, that's a much more serious matter, one that should involve filing charges against him for official oppression.

I agree 100% if it can be proven that the cops lied and had no probable cause then all charges should be dropped, he should get his bail back as well as an apology from the precinct and those cops should be given an unpaid vacation for 30 days.
