Can you weld on the frame of a corvette safely?

What's your safety concern...Burning surrounding panels/materials, the electronics, or weakening the frame?

I've welded on the exhaust before w/o issue, only precaution I took was disconnected the battery.
As for the frame integrity, I'm not sure, but doubt there's any tempering done to it. I would think it could be welded.

Can you weld on the frame of a corvette safely? Probably 25 years ago the car manufacturers introduced high strength steel in the car bodies and frames because it is thinner but stronger allowing it to be less weight but still have plenty of strength , but it also required using a mig welder instead of traditional stick welders . So if you don't have a mig welder and the professional experience to use it properly , I would advise taking it to a professional. The small price you will pay is less than the price that you will pay if something breaks on the car and maybe even some bones if you know what I mean.

Be careful there is a gas filter in the frame near the drivers door.
