My daughter's Feist Dog, Gucci, ate all the cat poop in the litter box and then proceeded to throw it up all over her house--floors, sofas, bed, rugs. Probably ruined a natural fiber rug. Gucci is now sick...uh, as a dog. Vet says just to keep an eye on her.
Why the hell would a dog eat cat shit? And cat shit that made her sick? Second, since I trust y'all more about dogs than I do a vet, should we do anything to make sure Gucci is all right? I am not going to brush her teeth.

Cats do not digest very much of their food intake - so it is essentially still "food" grade to the dog.

Our dogs love kitty treats... and there is nothing quite like the smell of a Golden retriever's mouth that has litter crumbs around it

As a child my Parents loved Dauchounds.. One particular one used to like to take a dump and turn around and eat it..:slap:
I remember sitting with my Father and seeing this happen..His words were.."That dog sure enjoys a hot meal"
Don't let them lick your face...

There was a period of time where our cat took to shitting at the end of the hallway where we rarely go. Took us a while to figure it out because the dog kept cleaning up after the cat. :willy:

Neighbor started letting their cats shit in my yard...dog kept eating it, then throwing it up, or more often than not...the smelliest, nastiest, most vile diarreah known to man. So bad that the smell could wake you up fro ma dead sleep in the middle of the night from 50 feet away...
i asked the neighbor to keep her damned cats in her damned yard...as nicely as I could. She said they are cats...deal with it.
So I dealt with it by letting abby out when she let her cats out. The problem has resolved itself.
