Been wanting to trade the CTS in for a Yukon Denali.
Dealer locally has a leftover/new 2013 with a msrp of $63.7k
He says he'll sell it for $53k. Loaded to the nuts with all options

Internet pricing comps are all over the place and 1 dealer in Ill (IIRC) is advertising 2014s with a msrp of $63k that he'll move for $53k. Can't see how that's possible with mfr incentives in the $2500 range.

Any insight would be helpful. Just want to be sure I'm getting a fair deal on leftovers. :waiting:

$10k off sounds like a great deal to me. Did you check Edmunds?

btw- I did a quick search for 2013's in my area and there aren't any. If your dealer has one and is willing to drop $10k you might want to jump on it, assuming inventory is low in your area as well.

I checked a few car sites but they keep asking for all my info so they can have a salesman contact me.

They've tried restructuring the deal a few times and I explained that I understand that there is only so much meat on the bone.

The gist of the deal:
They offered $13k off msrp but were trying to pull $3k off the trade-in value on my 2012 CTS which is paid in full and I hold the title to.

It looks like I'm getting about $10k off posted msrp, which sounds good.
I just want to be sure that is the case.

That's a better deal than any I see around here on autotrader.

When you go to edmunds, look for "tru market value", you don't have to put in any personal info, you just build the vehicle.

here's a link:

Dealer here has 13 2013 Yukons on their website. 2 Denali's listed for $62 and $59.

I think the site wasn't working properly from the iPad.
No problems with this link. Shows the value to be $60k

Thanks for your input. :cert:

Catch up with you sometime over the next couple months. We'll be in Cape Coral until early March.

Yea I'm laying in bed drinking a Gatorade hoping this pounding goes away before I go to work.

Yea just holler when you get down here. Cape Coral is just next door.

On a side note the redesign is coming out in summer I believe, you might be able to get the same on a 14 starting in February march time. Hell I'd push even harder to see if they'd come to 12k off just because they will be discounting the 14s soon. 10k off is still damn good as used ones are at 50k.

You got hosed.

I did a little bit. Salesman did the old hide the numbers game.
He had a more desirable color available "on the other lot" (they do have a bunch of locations in the area)

Same price out the door but the msrp was $2k lower on the new color model.
I didn't think to look at that number because when I grilled him on specs, he said it was the same loaded Denali as the previous. Apparently it's not if the msrp is $2k less.

I'm supposed to pick it up today and have a call out to the salesman. They need to make it right somehow.
At the end of the day, I got a new 2013 for the price of a used 2011 so I'm happy with that.

I'll get pics up later today. I chose the Crystal Red with Cashmere interior, a pretty sharp combo.

UPDATE:

Nice to have some great news from a dealership for a change. I called the salesman up to calmly discuss my issue of pricing first. Really glad I did.
I read the wrong column for MSRP. I was looking at invoice pricing by mistake.

Bottom line is I took $1000 hit on my trade-in (KBB) and they gave me $12.5k off MSRP. :hurray:  :datawiz:

Just checked out that color, it sure is red :yesnod:

Congrats once again :cert:

It is an interesting hue of red and works really well with the cashmere interior.
Like the 50th Anny, the sun brings out the metal flake.

Big cool factor is the electric running boards that slide out for the stubby legged passengers. Although that may just turn into a maintenance bitch later. :shots:

Going to pick it up tomorrow at 4pm. I'll get some shots up before I head outta Dodge.

Do they stick put at all when retracted? The factory running boards (fixed position )on my '01 really saved the rocker panels from all kinds of chips.

Good thing you're getting it after the snow storm. Less chance of an idiot hitting it :yesnod:

They are flush with the door bottom and actually take the place of the rockers. The only thing that shows is the black plastic trim on the sides.

:30 - :50 Not a Denali but same boards

The good part is they won't collect slush. But they'll allow all the crap to splash up. 50/50 :yesnod:

Still a damn nice vehicle

Yeah, I'm going to do the 3M kit all the way around to try and offset some of that.

I wanted to do it with the Caddy and wish I had. The little rock chips from the road are brutal and it seems I regularly get caught behind a dump truck that doesn't have a properly tarped load. :issues:

The test drive was really nice. The 6.2 had a lot more torque than I expected.
I just couldn't see doing a 5.3 in a 6k lb truck towing or not.

The 3M kit will help and you will be happy with the 6.2L I have the 6.0L in my '01 and have about 170K on it now.

You will learn to take off easy or fuel mileage will suffer. ( obviously if traffic warrants full GO pedal, GO !! )
