Boxer Sweetly Meets Baby Sister for First Time | ABC News Blogs - Yahoo (http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/boxer-sweetly-meets-baby-sister-first-time-174503882--abc-news-topstories.html)

It can be a stressful time for any new parents: the moment their first child-the pet-meets their newborn baby. Turns out Jeff and Danielle Livak of Nashville, Tenn., had nothing to worry about, though. In the adorable video above, the Livak's 6-year-old boxer Bella and 3-day-old daughter Melina formed an instant bond.

Filming the first time when the two met, Jeff caught a priceless moment. "I went upstairs and couldn't find Bella, so I looked underneath the sheets," Jeff said. "We knew that Bella was a really loving dog, but we had no idea she was going to be that protective. She was a lot more curious and had that maternal instinct kick in right away."

In the video, Bella hears Melina begin to cry and immediately starts empathetically whining and pacing her crib.

In the year and a half since, the pair has become inseparable, according to Jeff. "Melina feeds her constantly, sneaking food off her little tray. And Melina will go down and give her kisses all the time," he said. "We'll find them occasionally with Melina lying on the dog watching TV. And Bella sleeps in that room pretty much every night now. They've been really good."

Ya know, I never much minded in the past (I generally ignore sheit like this because there's no point anyway), but you might be onto something...

Times are a changing, and who knows what breed/background of any dawg, much less the background of the 'pedigree' of the previous owners....

having said that, my wife talks of her and her sister having a Boxer that they played with in the yard as little kids....decades ago, and so when anyone came into the property, the dawg would position itself between her and her sister, and the other stranger.....just laying there watching....

but in other cases through the years, have seen/witnessed/heard of gross behavior that in one case the guy put the dawgs down, threatening their baby....:issues:

Actually, I picture Phil sitting in front of his computer and just laughing as he pulls people's strings here. He probably feels like some kind of puppet master when he comes in and posts some shit bomb and all kinds of people jump on it.

I'm sure he does all that, probably to a degree even greater than you imagine.

And I'm also convinced that he believes every bit of Marxist bullshit he spews. :seasix:

I've known a few like that.

I've also known a few that were constantly so wound up that they couldn't (or wouldn't) be in the house for knocking shit over...including people.

------

Dogs are not all created equal any more than dog owners are created equal. A difficult dog in the hands of a weak, inattentive or just plain bad owner is a recipe for disaster. The links in Phil's drive-by contain a laundry list of dog owner mistakes...newly adopted dog with a toddler, dogs kept isolated outside in a pen, dog chained to a tree in the backyard...

Every situation is unique. Labeling German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Boxers, etc. as bad dogs just because they are German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, or Boxers is just as foolish as believing they will all be as loving as the German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Boxer "we once knew".

The broad brush has two sides.

And this is a valid point people. That's why you should always train your animals well. And give them LOTS of love and affection.
Dogs are like men. The more lovin we get, the easier we are to pet. :D
