I have a good friend with a 71 454 BB car that same color. That's only the second C3 I have seen in that color. You have a really nice C3!

My corvette has a pretty cool history behind. My mom got it in trade for painting the interior of brand new house.

Original owner bought it and drag raced it at Cecil County Dragway in MD. Unfortunately, he literally left the original engine ON the race track in about 1979. He bought something else to race and parked it in the field behind his garage.

The builder who built my mom and step dad's home purchased it in '82. He added the custom interior and the Vanacor rear wing. He proceeded to raise hell with the car and got into all kinds of trouble. :lol:

About 1984, my mom asked him if he wanted to sell the corvette. He said he liked how my mom painted the inside of their house and he would be willing to trade straight up if she would paint the inside of 3500 sq ft house he was building ( $650K on 5 acres in 1984 money :willy: ). Mom painted the entire inside of the house. Most rooms had three different colors/shades of paint and there were a couple very tall ceilings.

She GAVE the corvette to my step dad for his birthday. ( When they transfered the title from the builder to my step dad, the tag lady looked at the seller and said " You better get a different tag or he'll get pulled over just as much as the seller :lol: " )

He had corvette as his daily driver ( spring to fall ) until 1998 when he got a supercharged Grand Prix. The GP was faster, got better gas mileage and the AC worked better.

They offered me a deal I couldn't pass up so it became mine. Had 70K on it when I got it and 77K now.

I have to rebuild the engine in mine. Last time I drove it, I down shifted and got on it hard and something when CLUNK and started vibrating. :willy:

I nursed it the final couple miles home ( it was staring to get hot ) and parked it. After it cooled down, it was back into the garage where it's been in climate controlled comfort for a few years

Here is a few of my 80 C3. Picked if up about a year ago and have been slowing working on making her better. She had a blown 350 when I got her. I have since rebuilt with a 383 Stroker kit. Seems I have a LONG laundry list of todo's on her. I will probably do everything mechanically before fixing the body and repainting her.

It's non numbers matching with a crate GM 350/350, auto trans. Power steering, brakes, A/C, tilt wheel. Classic white with blue standard interior. The side pipes look to have been on for a while, but are in great shape.

I've tried a dozen times to post a picture from photo bucket but it won't post just a picture, it puts a big red box with a link and then it loads my whole album. anyone know how to just get a large picture? never had this problem elsewhere.:kick:

Go to your photobucket account and after signing in, click on your name.
click "user settings"
click on "albums ( second column from left side )
under "links" click all options you want ( I have these checked)
Email & IM

our '78. rowdy 454, 10-1, 292/.595/108 isky,
rpm intake, 2"primary hedmanns, roller top,
800 edelbrock carb, 2500 stall and 3.73's.

daily driven. SCARY fast.
that giant 5.5" cowl scoop isnt just for looks...

here it is waiting to pickup my younger boy
from school, 18 miles from home.
in rush hour traffic, its an hour and a half each way.
sits on the 180 t-stat the whole time, just happily
rumpity-rumping away.
