Took a couple run throughs to realize that the thing up top was cylinder count, and then below, position of engine in the chassis...

I never realized that F1s ever ran a 4 cylinder engine. Looks like it ranged from a straight 4 up to a V12 (V16?) at the extremes if my counting was accurate.
Also interesting how long it took to change from a standard round steering wheel to todays more rectangular design.
I'd like to see that gif in a form you could stop, to look at the years more closely...
