Every time I see a picture like that (and I had the same thought when my kids were born), I think about how the person who has the contract to supply those blankets to hospitals must swim Scrooge McDuck style in a room filled with hundred dollar bills.

They are provided by the volunteers at the hospital my wife is retired from. Everyone with a new baby leaves with a basket full of things for the baby, including a blanket. My wife and I have taken on the task of putting the baskets together and taking them to the birth center. This operation occupies nearly a full spare bedroom in our house. We shop for all the stuff and assemble the baskets. It's kind of fun and doesn't cost us anything out of our pocket. It's all funded by the volunteer organization.

They are only that small for what seems like a second. Enjoy every moment.

Welcome to the rest of your life! My little girl turns 2 in January and just seems like yesterday she was born. It goes FAST! Congratulations!

My wife probably still has the two blankets like that we got when our two kids (6, 3) were born.
