I've said it before and I'll say it again, Boeing makes a helluva airplane. The crew did an amazing job getting that thing back home. They are bad ass!!!! However, in the article, it states "appendage" when it is actually "empennage", which is the tail of the aircraft. Being an aircraft mechanic, I couldn't let it go!!:D On that note, here is a link someone posted of one of our aircraft that was almost lost due to a contractor fcuk up when they left a wing vent plug installed after depot maintenance. Aircraft is a Boeing 707 (JSTARS) and I launched and recovered the mishap aircraft in theatre. Just scroll through the comics someone put in the thread and get to the busted wing pics. AIB report is at top. The front end crew are all very good friends of mine, and well, that Boeing aircraft got them home safely.:seasix:
