Right now I work part time as a Student Tech in the college's Tech Support department while I go to classes full time.
One of the ladies working here left for a full time position doing the same work at another campus so her spot opened up. This is a part time job but a permanent position which is a stepping stone to a full time spot.
I got the call this morning to come in for an interview next week. My boss and one of the other full timers here in the shop are on the hiring committee. I'm hoping I have the advantage since I already work in the shop, have an extensive resume in the IT field, and have gotten great references from other IT people in the college. They only hire internally for this job (within the college). when I told my boss this morning that I got the call for an interview all he said was, "I already know" with kind of a grin on his face.
Wish me luck... this part time job will be perfect while I finish up this network engineering degree.
"Jsut" don't fu(k it up.

The boss said I have a great chance since I already work in the shop doing that same job as a student aid/tech. Hopefully it pans out, but they still have to do all the legal requirements and it's not one of those things where they are just checking the box to stay legal.
GOOD Luck DEEJ......

I should. Let them know that I can be laid back on the job and still get shit done.

In that case, just take the bottle in to the interview. Bring some cups and ice.

I ASSume you know I'd never do anything like that. I did in my younger days when I worked the bars, but don't do anything that stupid anymore.

Man, I just got a call from a military contractor looking to fill a network engineer spot in Germany on one of the Army bases. :banghead: I need to finish this CISCO Academy portion of my college plan and knock out my CCNA. :banghead:
There's plenty of work out there for me once I get that cert, but I also want the Network and Telephone Tech Engineering degree I'm working on to go with it on top of the B.A. in Communications that I already have. I should be finished with it by the end of summer if I stay in classes full time.

DEEJ, I not saying any names of just what organization, but my son's fiance' is under very serious contract offer for web development from a VERY major NYC operation that is known world wide....
and that is just one of her clients....she is buried in work loads, thinking of hiring on other folks to alleviate her stress.....
She quit Google/someone? major company everyone knows, some months ago....
she does more work off a hand held computer than I can imagine....
it's to do with web site development work.....
I really dunno shit about it, but apparently it's paying well.....
