So starts another 10 week beginner obedience class. Four GSD, a Belgian, Mastiff, Border Collie, Brittany, Doodle of some sort, an Am Staff, and a smattering of mixed breeds. What a madhouse.

So, whats the cost and is my dog too old to join. He is very smart and listens to "tricks" but is extremely selective when there are distractions. Other dogs, people, small animals.

$100.00 for 10 weeks. How old is he? Unless he's 15 or some such thing I'm sure he's not too old.
One thing we hear EVERY class is; He can do all this at home. There's a LOT of activity here, and a LOT of dogs. All this add's up to a lot of distractions.

2 in December he is a model citizen with nobody around. Sit, lay down, shake (can alternate paws when told limitlessly), down, will back up on command, speak, quiet, jump knows what the main things in his life are and will do them when told. Eat/hungry, thirsty, potty, hurry up, treat, kennel, "night night". He is very laid back and well behaved with me but he is like a toddler with other anything involved.
But I'll be damned if I can get him to listen when there is a animal (without threatening) or kid around he absolutely loves kids which doesn't help. Biggest problem is new people/pets he gets very excited and runs up to greet and get attention (which makes some people/animals scared or defensive) as well as not returning to me when commanded but that is only an issue outside never inside.
