today, at the end of the work day, my supervisor decides to do a trivia contest and when you answer a question right,m you can leave. I answer half of a two part question, another guy answers the other part, and he got to leave.
at this point there were just three of us left (me, my buddy who I carpool with, and a third guy). my sup' goes into his office, comes back out and tells the third guy to take off.
My buddy challenges as to why we can't go (especially since I got a question answered) and the sup responds with "well it wasn't my call" buddy says "I don't buy that" and the sup gets right up in his face and says "Are you calling me a liar?" Buddy backs down, and we sit, twiddling our thumbs for half an hour, before we are able to leave.

As a taxpayer, I ask why folks are leaving early at all. I am paying for time I am not getting. If all the work is done, I expect you guys to break something electronic, then fix it, in order to make the day.

I am not a go getter, if there is nothing going on, I'm not out looking for something.. However, when it comes to needing something done right the first time, and fixing peoples mistakes, I am the guy. My whole shop, even the aforementioned supervisor will admit to that.
In fact, my major collatoral duty is creating the work list everyday as well as reviewing all the maintenance paperwork for the entire shop.
