Thanks, but he was so pitiful that anyone with a heart would've done the same.
I don't know how he made it he was in such bad shape. Lots of vet trips later and he's doing great. He's paying us back through the love he gives.

In his prime. He's now 30, has had a couple of heart attacks that the vet didn't think he'd survive and has cancer. He has lost a lot of body mass, but still is alert, has a great appetite and shows no signs of distress. My wife feeds him and gives him gallons of hot water 3-4 times a day to keep him warm. He's her baby, and she realizes that a tough decision is coming soon.

When I first got my GSD, I was out of classes and home all the time, or one of the girls was, for about 3 wks. If I just left to run errands, I even took him with me. When we all tried to leave him after those 3 weeks, it wasn't pretty. It took him awhile to learn that we'd come back. Who knows what had happened in his previous life, as the rescue group I adopted him from had pulled him, in sad shape, from a kill shelter.

Ramona was lucky that she found you! :)

My good buddy, Bogie. A rescue from a kill shelter. He was my good friend's baby but he stayed at my house many times when his Mom and Dad was out of town and I spent a lot of time with him. I've known him since 1999 and we think he was 14 years old. He had to be put down this morning when he got to the point he could no longer walk. He's suffered several health issues in the past 2 years but he was very well taken care of and very much loved. Mostly pit but very gentle w/ children and just an absolute great dog.
