Do you have it? Here is the scenario. Down 64-24 after 3 quarters. 8 minutes per quarter so there are just 8 minutes left in the game. What do you do?

Are you talking about the H.S. game that was on ESPN earlier? That was a colossal beating.

...and I agree with Hoog. Whether you or up or down, the starters are out at that point. Hell, you might as well put the cheerleaders on the court to at least give the fans something to look at.

Exactly! The idiot coach left the starters in. Final was 83-37

Well, if you were ahead, you'd use the entire 24 second clock each possession.

8 minutes / 24 seconds = 20 possessions. The other team would need 20 possessions themselves in order to tie you shooting 2 point shots and not allowing you to score, 13.5 possessions shooting threes. There's no way they could catch up if you played decent D and used all 24 seconds every time on offense.

If you're behind, you look for the 3 point shot every time, and quick turnovers.

The team that was up still had their starters playing full court press till 5 minutes left and then he took them out and put in his scrbs and had them play full court press.

Depends upon your team. If you think it will help you in the future for your starters to get more practice against superior competition and the press they are running, then you play them and use the rest of the game for teaching.

I'm surprised that game was that lopsided.

A good coach knows how to make good use of all players. Maybe he's just a bad coach.
