View Full Version : My Mea Culpa regarding OnStar/GM

After being thoroughly frustrated and trashing them here, I have to eat some crow because they've both been very fair following my recent complaints about the brand.

The Director of OnStar Call Center Operations contacted me and we had a very positive discussion. She listened to my complaints with the lockout incident and our previous issue regarding a blown transmission. She forwarded my transmission complaint to GM and a member of the Executive Liaison team contacted me. After reviewing the information, she agreed that GM should have offered 'SOME' assistance when our 2008 Equinox dropped the transmission @ 75k miles.

In short, their customer service has been great and has indeed restored some of my faith in the brand. Thank you Neelie and Brittany!

Good to hear, GM could use all the help they can get these days.

Agreed. Had we received even a portion of this goodwill at the time the transmission blew I would probably still be driving a Chevy.

Unfortunately companies blowing off their customers is becoming more and more popular these days

I was impressed when they joined here (within hours) to respond to your thread.

Nice that they followed up with you on it too. :seasix:

I'm glad they reated you nicely. But I'd reserve praise until I saw what kind of "assistance" they give you. Car companies are not generous when it comes to out-of-warranty issues (and I assume the transmission was out of warranty). The last freebie I got with out of warranty repairs was $300 in vouchers for $2100 in repairs. I'd already paid the dealer for the repairs, and the vouchers can only be redeemed at the dealer for future purchases.

Good luck, though.

Let's be honest, they're never going to cut a check and give you money back but they have both been very fair.

I was impressed they joined the forum as well. Their Communications Department is top notch, they responded QUICKLY!

Hunh? All they did was kiss the boo-boo.

Unless they pony up the jack, they ain't done jack. Except maybe a little hand-jacking. It's appeasement. Cheaper than ice in Alaska.

Tell 'em you are owed some monetary compensation.
No, demand it, or tell 'em to take a hike.
You have so far got zero return on investment.

It's a single load block for a M1 Garand. It slips in place where you place the en bloc clip and holds the bolt open after every shot. It's used primary for target shooting / NRA High Power Matches:yesnod:

After thinking about it, I was going to guess something Garand related. Don't have one of those. :(

I'm glad you received a response and some actions are being taken.

On the warranty note:
I've been stuck in the arse by GM on more than 1 occasion with warranty issues that were questionable.
Pitted wheels on my 50th AE vert 9k miles and 8 mos old
told me it was "something in the road"

EBCM went bad in my '04 coupe with 24k miles.
told me "unit not covered and the LS1 Edit professionally tuned must have caused the damage" yeah ok... $1600 bucks later...
