Got pulled over today on the way back from a meeting. 71 in a 60. Of course the normal speed limit is 70 except for a short span. :issues:
Gave him my concealed carry license with my drivers license. He asked if I had a weapon in the vehicle. I said yes. He asked where is it? I replied "on my hip".
He gave me back my CC license, told me to keep my hands on the steering wheel while he went back to his car to run the ticket.
He comes back and tells me to call the Municipal Court in a couple days. He was having technology issues and couldn't print it out. He said it wouldn't upload either.
"you may or may not have a citation. Call in a couple of days."
Zuh?

OP, fight that ticket. "You may or may not have a ticket" can be easily construed by you in Court that the Officer was just playing with your mind, and that he later charged with with speeding out of malice, not because of a traffic violation. You were not speeding! The Officer likely won't show up in Court anyway, so move to dismiss the charge.

I guess we should trust you, but could we please get another opinion from your daughter?

Call them?
Ya, right!
You've been cut a break.
Entirely possible that it is an urban legend, but don't you have to sign a ticket or warning, to acknowledge that you received it?

Not sure. I think signing the ticket is acknowledging that you will appear.

He tried to call, but at first the line was busy. After multiple attempts, the call went through but he was put on hold and disconnected. :island14:

Urban legend. That's only on TV.

It was a fake cop that was looking to rape you, but you were packing and scared him off.... :seasix:
That's what really happened.

That too, Your Honor. I tell ya, I was afraid for my virginity. Just the thought of it makes my pecker wilt.... Wanna see?

I signed an electronic signature pad but was given no notice of the citation. This means I have no record of the violation, the recourse, the entity issuing the ticket, etc.
Seems like something I can probably fight.

If they say you do have a ticket when you call, make sure that you let them know you already gave the payment to the patrolman in cash..
:D
Well I, for one, feel safer just knowing that a bad seed such as yourself was taken off the streets, even if it was only briefly.
Make sure there is no ticket, or the ticket is dismissed first, then file a complaint against the officer for harassment. This is a deadly serious thing that Officer Friendly turned into a bad joke, causing you anxiety. "Uh, hello? Um, yeah, have I been charged with some sort of crime this week?" Really?
Guy should have hand written down the address, phone number, place and time you needed to appear if he wanted to give you a ticket. F'n douchenozzle. He needs to get a complaint. If he did it to you, how many others has he been so cavalier with?
