He finally won an emmy after seven nominations spanning 52 years and four TV series. Until this year, when he finally won Best Comedy Guest Actor for his turn as former children's show host Professor Proton on "The Big Bang Theory."

Newhart collected his statuette to a standing ovation at last week's Creative Arts portion of the Emmys. Lasrt night, he got his due on live television at the Primetime awards and again received a standing ovation--the only one of the night. He's 84-years-old, and he got a little choked up:

Yep! And what a uniquely funny man. He played the same dead pan role all his life, and everyone continued to love it.

He looks great for his age, albeit a little short next to that string bean Jim Parsons. :hurray:

Love Bob and his deadpan brand of humor. He and Mary Frann rocked Newhart in the 80's.
