A few pics from the 150th Chickamauga reenactment. The Chickamauga battlefield was the first battlefield preserved in the country in 1890. Shiloh, Vicksburg, Antietam, and even Gettysburg, came a few years later.

The Battle of Chickamauga, named for nearby Chickamauga Creek, was fought September 19–20, 1863. It involved more than 150,000 soldiers of the Northern and Southern Armies.

None for me.

Place is packed with history though. Indians, slavery, war, etc...beautiful land at the foot of Lookout Mtn. I could see some mega $ mansions high on the mtn. overlooking the cove. A beautiful place for such bad things to have happened on that ground.
