Almost done with the theater but have been waiting on the bar to post final pics as it is such an integral part of the room.
Most of the theater was complete a month ago but the devil is in the details. :needcoffee:

Drove an hour West of Philly to an excellent lumber yard that deals with exotic woods.

Picked out Leopardwood for the top and African Wenge (looks like ebony) for the trim and rail.

The guys in the mill were great and did the cuts and millwork to the specs we needed. Bar top is 17' wide and 2' deep.

The Wenge after a rounding over with the router and a finish sand.

A quick look at the bar top and rear rail unfinished.
This week we'll finish the front rail and will be using a broad panel bit to get a nice sweeping edge.

Oxford, nice drive down there. Take rt 100 to Rt 30 , pick up Rt 10 and then Rt1 . About 20 minutes farther into MD is where we got Levi, our greater swiss mountain dog :yesnod:

I never heard of Leopard wood until you mentioned it. Very nice Scott.
Can't wait until the final pics.

Yeah, it was a bit farther than I originally expected, but the drive was really worth it.
They have an incredible collection there with a respectable amount of stock in each variety.

Crazy jealous about your set up. Man, that is a dream of mine to have a home theater.

Love the exotic woods. :seasix:

Can't wait to see the pics of the completed project. I'll bet you'll be glad to see the project finally come to a close! These things seem like they take forever.

Unless you're Gozar, of course. I think his got started on a Saturday morning and they were watching movies Sunday night.

No, by Sunday they were already on their 2nd movie

I've been working on it consistently since March and it seems like it's always, "just one more thing" :needcoffee:

Kingpin gave me some great suggestions regarding subs. After hours of research, I finally ordered one. Now I think I need one more.

Dual 15" drivers in a sealed box with a 4,000 watt amp and tuned for 15 Hz with only 3 dB drop.
