Anyone own a Cadillac CTS coupe? Even if you don't have one, what do you think?

I think this is my first thread on VB.

Hey Sweetie!!!!

Thanks for joining us. I especially like the looks of the car, especially in the V trim. I would consider one of these for a daily driver in a heartbeat. Styling is love it or hate it. I happen to love it.

HEY Judy! Go for it! I really like the looks...unfortunately I want something with ground clearance to replace my Tahoe. <oh yah it aint in the budget either>

The roads between my house and work tend to flood everytime it rains.

I keep seeing commercials for this car and need to see one in person. It looks sharp.

I saw one at CI, they are sweet. My husband asked me last night what my next car was going to be. I told him a CTS-V. I need one car with a backseat for my grand babies.

Not sure what part of town you're in, but my brother works at a Caddy dealership in Clear Lake. He loves the CTS.

The CTS-V with the TVS SC is a lot of car for a good price, I would like to get one myself someday.

You really have to see it in person to realize how good looking it is.I drove one a few weeks ago(Not a CTS-V) and for most people the V-6 will do fine.

I am really tempted to see what kind of a deal I can work trading my 08 DTS for a CTS-V........:)

Shhhhhh. I have him believing that I do. :D This was back in 2009, I fell in love with one. He said "probably about $80K". Wrong. $108K from what I remember. But what's an extra $28 grand for something pretty.

Word to the wise, don't ever trade your car in if you don't have to, they'll show you jack $hit for it.

Sell it privately if possible and the more time that goes by, the cheaper the new car will get.

Got the V sedan, wish to hell I would never had bought it.
Yes they are fast and when they are put together right, fun to drive.
Mine was in the shop for over 7 weeks tearing apart the roof to repair broken welds. Now the snapping noise is back in the roof, have a rear main oil seal leak, the paint it screwed up on the car, rims are flaking, chrome on the front has peeled off, third brake light replaced because it was chipping the paint on the trunk. All of this and less than 16.5K on the clock.
Needless to say GM is not my best friend right now. For those who will say Lemon it, I wish I could. I've learned alot about buying a car out of state and your states lemon laws. Only ongoing litigation will tell the true story.

Wow, lots of problems---I wish you luck in resolving this. Did you post on the other forum about this? I seemed to recall reading about this over there. What year is it? I know 3 people at NASA that had the earlier year CTS's and all of them are in different vehicles now. I wonder if the latest years are better. My Aunt that just passed away had one and she loved her car.

Build date 3/09 it is an 09. I did have a post on the cadillac forums for a while but it went away. I kick myself for trusting GM after the 07 and 08 Z's. Extreme bitterness about sums it up.

Much better looking car in person., IMHO.

Loved the shaved door handles on the coupe vs the standard type on the 4 door.

We beat on 'em at a track event in Pearland and they are bulletproof.

My next car will be the 4 door, but I love the coupe.

They had a white wagon with black wheels at the track event and it looked cooler than hell.

I agree that there needs to be more AWD station wagons available, especially in the $30k to $60k price range.

I'd prefer an Audi RS6 Estate over pretty much everything with more than 2 seats. So yeah, AWD rocks.

But the CTS-V Wagon is Detroit finally making something daring, something outrageous. It's an Oldsmobile 4-4-2 wagon, a Chevelle SS 396 wagon.

I was bummed when the Dodge Magnum went away, and then came back as another anonymous SUV. I'm hoping and praying that the Caddy Wagons sell and herald the return of the station wagon in real numbers. I'm so sick of SUVs and Minivans...

I hate station wagons. I wondered who they were still making them for. I read your later post, too, wanting more wagons vs SUVs. I love SUVs, but just hate wagons. I reckon that's why there are all kinds of vehicles! There just have to be enough wagon lovers for them to make more for you!

ps I have to say that the Caddy wagon is the best looking of the ones out now, with that I agree.
